Last month working in Soho (London)

Nikki has owned this domain for a little while, but wanted to start it with a great set of initial posts to get the momentum going. Which obviously means she stalled entirely!

But, now…. thanks to onthenewlondon Nikki has a theme and impetus for a great set of posts….

For 9 months from 2013 to 2014 Nikki worked in an office in the middle of Soho surrounded by gorgeous restaurants, cafes, street stalls, bakeries, etc. For an amateur foodie it was absolute bliss to try many different food stuffs during lunch breaks. However, as a pregnant foodie Nikki was limited by foods on the “MUST NOT EAT” list from the doctor and avoidance of foods that gave her heartburn (basically anything containing tomato, garlic, salt or oil). Plus the inevitability of falling into the traps of easy known quantity (Pret) or favourite near-the-office independent (Gail’s Bakery).

Nikki then left Soho working to have her baby and lunchtimes became baby friendly cafes or home made snacks. But, now she’s back!

After 8 months of moving from 24-7 baby duty into remote freelance work the opportunity arose to return to Soho and all it’s wonderous food providers. Just one problem…. the company is moving to the King’s Cross area at the beginning of March… Nooooooo!

So, Nikki posted to Twitter for suggestions of Soho food that she should make sure she tries before the office move and onthenewlondon suggested that Nikki try somewhere new every day of February and keep a blog. So she shall! First working day of the month is 2nd Feb….. now where to go for lunch for #LastMonthWorkingInSoho ?!
